Why Choose Us?

The mission of River Counseling is to assist people in reaching their highest potential emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually. Our goal is to help people develop insight into their lives; to learn and implement new skills to improve their quality of life. Treatment is available by mental health therapists to people who have suffered physical and mental trauma so that the person can heal and move forward on their life path.

We offer gentle and compassionate treatment to individuals who have survived and are healing from childhood or adult abuse. We are trauma-informed, trained to diagnose and treat all mental health diagnoses but particularly interested in PTSD. We have learned that the symptoms often result from unresolved recovery from past experiences. We offer counseling in relationships, depression, anxiety, grief, and other associated mental health disorders. The primary goal of any therapist you may see through River Counseling is to help you navigate your life journey on a path of healing and wholeness so that you may be restored to who you were created to be and live a fulfilling life worthy of your calling!

* We accept new clients who are adults. We do not get intakes for children. Suppose your counselor/therapist determines that your child(ren) may benefit from counseling. In that case, you will be assisted in developing a plan of action, which may include your child becoming a client at River. We start by working with the adult(s) in the home/situation.

Sometimes we offer groups specific to trauma treatment. Call the office to learn more about future schedules:

In the Wildflowers: This series offers hope and healing to those who have suffered from sexual abuse.

Into My Arms: This series is for women and men who have suffered the pain of abortion.

Hello, my name is Aly McGee; I am a mental health professional with a clinical license in social work. I am the owner of River Counseling, where I have walked alongside hundreds of people on their healing journey. Now I offer wisdom to the therapists who choose to do this work and want to work at River Counseling. I aim for everyone to discover their true identity and live their lives to their fullest potential.

This is a personal invitation to anyone ready to take a step of faith. Join us in the River. Aspiring therapists and clients are welcome.

I am a Board Certified Supervisor offering wisdom; however I no longer actively supervise or treat patients due to limitations from a motorcycle accident. For therapists seeking to acquire the necessary hours toward licensure, I encourage you to contact Melinda Hix-Demulling our new Clinical Supervisor. For advice or seeking direction, you can find me at www.dearaly.com
